How does this blasted thing work? When I put it in auto, the a/c comes on no matter what the temp is set at. When I put the defrost on, the a/c comes on. Is there a trick to get the heat on? Any help greatly apprecated.
 
If you cant get heat by adjusting the temperature to a higher than ambient setting, you have a malfunction in the control mechanism: either the ECU or a sensor. Try adusting the temperature setting in the manual mode.
