They say the B26 went out of service in 1948. That's not true. We had them in 1958 pulling target socks for fighter gunnery practice down in Gitmo. We pulled out the rear guns and put in a winch for a tow cable. I flew in them. They don't have a B25 in the line up. I flew co pilot in one of those. It was privatly owned though. I also flew in the old B24 Liberator, just hitching a ride. She was built like a tank and about as noisy as one also. What do you think it would cost to fuel up one of those today? WoW!
I didn't pay attention to the URL/host until I ~didn't~ see a lead sled: "A flippin' 102 but NO F-4?!?!" Then it dawned. Great shots of instrumentation, tho. The 130's & C-5's are certainly different now than when I was riding in 'em. Nintendo. sheesh.

Yup, Yup, the Douglas. Sorry. Wasn't paying attention as usual. She, the Douglas, was one sweet AC. Kinda tight fitting, but we all liked her.
Little known to the general public, it was the fastest bomber in WW II designated A26. Changed to B26 for Korea and Nam. But for political reasons in Nam, it was presented to the public as the A26. It's the only American bomber to serve in three wars. Now domesticated, there are a few still airworthy and flying.
