In the last few years I've found many web pages tend to show with a faded grey text. Poor contrast for my eyes.
Various browsers allow changes to default web page fonts, but none helped me much, and I got frustrated with the needs to continuously adjust the settings.
Finally (just 30 minutes ago!) discovered a Chrome extension which actually works for me.

If you hit a webpage with hard to read, faded grey text, you click the "eclipse" icon at the browser top right. Voila! You can choose Normal, Increased Contrast, Greyscale, Inverted Color, etc.
No more squinting at impossible to read web pages - just one click, and only when needed!
