Cleaning the satin chrome grille on a 100/4

I had the grille on my 100/4 rechromed a little while back and was hoping to get some advice on keeping up the satin finish on the vertical slats. Would a product like simichrome be appropriate? I've heard some recommend using a wax on the chrome as opposed to a chrome cleaner. I wondered though, if waxing the slats would negate the appearance of the satin finish as the wax would smooth it out. None of the solutions I've heard or read about were specific to the satin chrome finish on a 100 grille. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks, Charlie.

Been a few years since I did my grill...wax will not help or destroy the finish...when I had my grill rechromed I believe I used a very very fine steel wool with chrome polish on the slats... The finish is still dull satin but is now uniform in texture and clean. It did not make it shiney....do a small test spot try it

Thanks for the reply HealeyJag,

I stopped by the custom chrome shop that had done the satin chrome on my grille. Their recommendation was to clean the grille with a soft cloth and soap and water. They also said a coat of wax was recommended. I was under the impression that using wax would make the satin finish shiney but they told me that the finish was sealed during the chroming process and wax would not alter the satin finish's appearance. Thought this might be helpful information for others on the forum...
