Cleaning BPF Headlamps

Does anyone know how to clean inside the Lucas BPF headlights.

I have an original tripod pair that has what I would describe as slightly misted glass and a standard pair that have some dirt and what appears to be a slightly oily coating on the reflector.

I assume that I can rinse with some kind of cleaner or solvent, but I don't want to leave the reflectors prone to oxidising. Has anyone tried or got any ideas?
 
I would be interested too because I have a Daimler with tri=pod headlights.
 
I have taken halogens and used glass cleaner and soap on the lens and then dried as well as possible. I put my Disco and Cibie assemblies in an oven at 100deg (no more) until dry. The reflectors I find will scratch so I haven't figured them out yet. The mirror finish doesn't hold up to any type of rubbing.
 
Just a quick note, if you're using a solvent that is mixed with water, use distilled water. Rinse with the distilled water, then pour and "swish" a little denatured alcohol in afterwards to help promote drying. That should minimize the water spots.
