There HAS to be more leg room without that huge radio console in the way. You see, I never got to drive my bugeye before stripping it down so my first drive will REALLY be my first. Much like Jack I suppose other than the fact that he's owned several prior.

Wish I were home working on the car now...
 
Ben -- they do compliment each other nicely, though I'll still be happy to see the Midget go when it get's picked up in the next little bit (it's already sold off to another BCFer). One project at a time...
 
In my old garage in the states I had shelves running the entire length on both sides, washer/drier at the top end, and still had space to park the sit on mower, an '83 Buick Regal Stationwagon and a Mercury Villager with enough space to open the doors. God I miss that garage! My shack here will house any of my vehicles except the BMWs (too long), but only one at a time. Unbelieveably, it is bigger than the average Brit garage, as most people here use there's as storage as it is usually too tight to get their cars in!
I am planning to buy the house from the owner along with a chunk of the surrounding field at some point in the next few years. The field purchase should provide space for a 4 bay garage, machine shop & rebuild area... The thought of it makes it easier to get out of bed in the mornings!
 
I was in Florida from Dec '93 to Feb '97, moved into my current house in Nov '01.
 
Yeah I'm pretty happy where I am. When you look back on a place like Florida you remember the good bits, but seem to forget the tornados, the hurricanes and the seemingly endless red tape the "officials" love to hand out to immigrants! If I feel like some heat these days the quick fix is to go run a few miles at the gym and jump in the sauna for 30 mins afterwards...
 
Haven't been to Spain since '90. But why go with Thomas Cook when I'm just a few short hours drive from the Alps, Nurburgring, Scotland (and Wales is almost in spitting distance from my house!)... Granted, it's a few hours more than in the BMW (I did 26 miles in 17 minutes the other night when I was trying to get home in time for the F1), but sometimes its the journey not the destination!

On the A-5?
 
Mainly, started off in South East Telford, had to negotiate the town centre, along the A5 round Shrewsbury, out towards Welshpool and along some country lanes. Got home with 3 minutes to spare before the F1 started too!
I've done Heathrow to my house in 2 hours, which I was quite impressed with as I left Heathrow at 5:30pm on a Friday evening!
But the behemoth... Just before xmas I did Luxembourg and back (1197 miles by the odometer) in 23hrs 28 minutes, and by ferry too, not the chunnel!
There aren't any policemen reading this are there?
 
So admitting that I hit an indicated 166mph along the A5 during a recent blast in a new Audi S8 would be OK then?
 
M11 is from North London upto Cambs correct? You wouldn't do that these days: they have average speed cameras all the way up to Huntingdon!
 
I know it well, I was at boarding school just outside Ipswich for a couple years. I think it's now one of the only USAF stations still over here.
