I saw him race at Watkins Glen in '71 (Cevert won).
After his crash at Long Branch in '80, he was paralysed from the waist down, but he kept driving in various events (including Paris-Dakaar) using hand controls.
Too bad...a fellow with a friendly and affable reputation.
