Classifieds - I need your input

Follow the IT business model, make it easy to get in, bring more traffic here, and then show your numbers to the sponsors and get more sponsors and more money for ads.

I say this not because I am cheap, although I certainly am, but because you get a pretty good chunk fo traffic and use from the British car world already, a fully populated classifieds section would bring more people, which would bring more ads which would bring more people, some of whome will donate, and as I said there is the sponsor thing as well.

As far as how you set it up, at the current volume a section for "cars" and "parts" would probably do it, as things increase you might need to divide up by marque. As far as how it is done, easy is the key, easy to post, easy to search, easy for you to maintain (self serve, with some way to keep out the dreaded spammers)

I'm sorry I saw this so late in the process. Basil you should tie want ads to membership. In other forums I belong to, paid members can post ads for personal items for free. Non members either cannot post ads or must pay. This works very well and gives people a perceived vale for buying the site membership.

Copied below is the classified section of the Honda S2000 forum. It is a robust market place to say the least. they limit participation to paid members and it works very well.
