Yesterday, me and wife were taking a ride in the TR3. We were on the Nissequogue River Rd, which is a twisting, very narrow two lane road. Most sections of the road do not have any shoulders, so it's like you're driving in a trough with trees all around.

As I'm driving, I keep hearing this sound that reminds me of cicadas...listen to video below...it sounded just like that.

You don't have to listen to the whole thing, just the first few seconds or so.

It didn't take long to realize that the noise happened every time I stepped on the brakes. Well, what the heck is going on here??? A little further down the road, it finally dawned on me what it was...

I've got cross-drilled rotors and that's what they sound like when you step on the brakes!!! </span>

I encountered an infestation of these sometime in the early '70s and along the Mississippi River. The sound from the vegetation was very much what you recorded. But they were also flying frenzied and in swarms; it was like driving through a storm of hazel nuts.

The spaceship with a bad bearing noise.
