MGC Chrome Wires for my C

Hi guys

My C roadster project is coming along nicely. Just met with a mechanic today that's going to help me with the bits and pieces to get the car road worthy.

The car has painted wires right now and I'm thinking of upgrading them to Chrome. Between Dunlop and Dayton wires which, in your experiences are the better choice? I want tubeless wire wheels.

Thanks gents for your input.

Kev, two months ago I bought my MGC GT Downton-style conversion from Russ Williams in Pioneer CA. Came with chrome 72-spoke wire wheels, but I decided to buy a set of Minator wheels that arrived today, so the wires are going to get sold. They're in VG daily driver cosmetic condition, excellent splines, but would benefit from balancing and maybe truing for optimal performance. I'm having them removed tomorrow. They require inner tubes, so I'm including them, and I have the Minator shipping boxes. Haven't decided on a price yet, but shipping would be at extra cost from San Antonio TX. If I find time, I'll clean them up and photograph them. My preference is to sell local, but if you can't find a set, get in touch.

Interesting. Send me pics when you have them and let me know what you want for them including shipping. I really want tubeless but for the right price I could be persuaded.

Thanks
Kev

Not sure - never had the tires off.
They came on the car when I bought it.

dayton uses stainless steel for the spokes, no rust or chrome peeling issues. I have Dayton 60s on my gt and they seem to have a bit more heft than Moss. Also Dayton is made in Dayton, not overseas at the old jewel in the crown, and, as I recall, has a good warrarty.

Thanks for the input. I was leaning towards the Daytons, now it's settled.

Have had the daytons for 14 years and they have never gone out of true or got bent spokes, in 18,000 miles. Dennis P
