Hi folks, I was talking to a friend last night and he is pushing me to convert my rubber bumpers to chrome. Has anyone done this? what is involved? can you send/ post pics? thanks for your help.

I just started my conversion to chrome. The rear had been done before I purchase the car and now I will do the front.

However, as I read his directions, I dont understand why the need to modify the fenders for the lamps. Will prior year lamps, say 71-74, work in the existing holes?

Any suggestions on which yr grill assembly works best?

The holes in my fenders are a lot larger than the previous year lamps, I'm not exactly sure why they made them bigger but I have a theory that british leyland may have had a different shaped rubber bumper in mind. I've seen ads where the bumper just looks like a regular bumber covered with rubber.
