Well friends, we made it home safe and sound. Spent Monday nite in a hotel in Philly having had our flight cancelled and couldn't get on the next and then SWMBO was booked directly to Toronto on Tuesday and i was to get to Buffalo (where the car was) via Boston. Tuesday woke up and the Toronto flight was cancelled, got to the airport and both of us were re-scheduled to Buffalo at 3:45 but then got on a flight at 1:30 (that should have left at 12:15) so, home safe and sound and, our luggage is supposed to arrive today. - Hurray!

Anyways, none of this is related to the purpose of this post. A number of things were in the mail when we got home, including an NOS tool kit for my daughter's Honda CT90 that she is restoring. The kit is almost complete, but, is missing a screwdriver handle. It is one of those old style swap the bit type handles - I know my dad had one or two in the bottom of his toolbox ('cause they don't really work  ) Anyways, before I go crazy on Ebay etc, anyone got one in the bottom of their toolbox they want to donate/sell? It would be lovely to complete this kit for Christmas.

Here is the bit - so you can see what the hole in the handle needs to be shaped like.

thanks all
JP

JP -

I may have an extra - have several; will check later today.

If nothing else, visit most any hardware store; pretty much ubiquitous. And Radio Shack used to stock them. When I was a store manager, we sold lots of 'em.

thanks Mickey!

I don't think those are the "correct" type. IIRC, it was a pipe of stamped pipe that was socketed on both ends. I can't tell you how many of those things I've lost or thrown away

Well, I checked what I have, and they are a different type - won't work with the one you have. Hopefully, someone else will check in.

More like this one:

thanks for looking Mickey

JP - how long are those inserts? and how wide at the flare? Here's an old Mercedes-Benz toolkit (I've got one for my 190b) from the 1950s. Looks like the M-B handle (black, on left) might fit your inserts, depending on those measurements.

JP?

Sorry Tom, started to reply and got side tracked. Yesterday I stopped by a motorcycle salvage place that had a box of them! Yes I had to buy the kit but is was cheap and it allows me to end up with a complete kit. Thanks all!

Yamaha outboard tool kit uses that type. Think I have one in OC NJ but I am 100 miles away until after Xmas. Will look when I get there.
