Christmas Card Sharing

After lots of thought Doug and I have decided that the cost involved with sending cards amounts to a fair sum of money. We talked and finally came to the conclusion that a charity could be better served. We decided that we did not want to not offer holiday greetings and wanted our friends to know that we have continued to think about them and with this in mind we purchased a walking path brick for Watermelon Mountain Ranch. Watermelon Mountain Ranch is a no-kill animal shelter with a wonderful track record that serves all of New Mexico. Their website is www.wmranch.org and FB page is Watermelon Mountain Ranch. The brick will be inscribed: "D&J Wrobel, 2015 Holiday Card Friends. We are hopeful this will become our tradition and a recognition for our friends.

I also suggested that perhaps when a friend wants to visit the walking path, they call the ranch to be sure it's a good time. Then I suggested to staff that they simply place one of their shelter pets on the brick with a Thank You card on it's collar and perhaps he or she would be going to their forever home. Kidding, kind of?

Anyway I am putting this out there as a suggestion for some of you who might feel the same way. Not to Watermelon Mountain Ranch of course but perhaps to a no-kill shelter in your area. Hope I'm not being too forward but really wanted to share.

Thanks for the read.
