Choke on Bugeye carbs [H1]

I've put a choke cable on my dash and bought a pack of cable stops and various parts and pieces and can take some pieces from my MK1 Midget carbs as well.

Would there be a problem if I only set up the choke on the rear carb?
Would it work?
This is just until I can either fab or buy the appropriate parts to connect both carb chokes.

BTW since I also had the leak from the oil pressure gauge I decided to pull the dash, wow that was certainly easy!!
Got to watch out for the "might as well" bug, keep the goal of driving this car in mind.

It had a vinyl 1/8" line to the brass compression fitting on the back of the gauge. I pulled it apart and cut the line and refitted, then I got interrupted by family duties (BBQ) and haven't started up the motor to see if the leak is fixed.

I need to figure out what wires go where behind that dash, for being so simple it's still a bit of a mystery to me which switch does what. I'm going to have to do some trial & error until I figure it out.
