I have needed a truck at my shop so a ouple of months ago I stumbled across a 91 Chevy truck a guy had and as he was moving out of stse...he sold it cheap...$500. Its a 91 ext. cab, long bed 2500. 3/4 ton two wheel drive. Has a 350 throttle body 4 speed auto with o/d. Has 90k original but all but about 10 of those miles where hard. The front clip was virtually wiped. Needed everything firewall fwd. front glass cracked...dents on bed past wheel well openings. It now sports a new front clip...new glass, left bedside repaired..rt. side in progress. Its a 8500 gross weight truck so its really bigger than I need. Once I finish it...(paint, brand new tires etc) I'll probaly sell it. I also replaced the front rotors, pads and calipers. Has elac. trialer brakes, class three heavy hitch, sliding rear window and will come with a fifth wheel set-up if needed. Zero rust as it was bought new locally and has been here in the high desert ever since. Red with darker red cloth interior. Darn...I think I'm getting attached to the thing. I'd like to maybe trade it for a BGT if someone has an extra one. Not available for a while and I may decide to keep it. I'll post pics later.

Good score. You find all of the deals evidently. Before it was stolen, my DD was a 91 silveradfo 1/2 ton short bed. Same driveline.... I bought it with around 100K on it after the owner had the diff let go and didn't want to fix it. I had it about 3 years, put another 60K on it. It has been gone 2 plus years, and I still look for it when I am out and about. It was a great truck, and I still want it back. It was as reliable as the sunrise, and other than the diff, nothing ever went wrong with it. I had just put a fresh set o tires on it when it was taken......

That's the thing about trucks, you never realise how much you needed one until you have one. Then it's hard to live without...... And no matter how much bigger it may be than you think you'll ever need, there will always be the odd occasion when it will be "just right" for a particular task.

I know...but this thing is really a beast. I think I found a bed in Roswell and if so I'll start the removal process today and anyways its easier to paint the truck..then roll the bed in and do it by itself. The tint that was all wrinkled is all gone except for the sliding rear window...I'm also going to change the muffler out as it looks a bit rough. This thing is going to end up being virtually new.

Bumper sticker every truck owner should have:

"Yes this IS my truck and NO, I won't help you move!"

I still need a truck.........
