Cheer me up!

Christmas Day has passed and I am sitting here suffering from a horrible cold. I should be out chopping logs and I would love to be doing some work on the TR, but it is just so cold and damp outside.
I know that Dale is working on his throttle linkage and Paul is being good, but is anything else happening in Triumph Land? There must be people in California, Australia, New Zealand and many other places in the world who are happily driving or working on their cars.
Please, post me a picture of your Triumph and cheer me up!

Nick,

My cold remedy is a glass of Couvoisseur VSOP cognac, a squeeze of lemon and a spoon of honey. Microwave for 15 seconds and sip (for medicinal purposes, of course!)

Feel better, the cold will pass in time!

Your remedy brings a smile to my face. I don't
have a cold; but, I might just go to the cupboard
to check for the makings.

Oh, and Nick, I did just post a pic, albeit poor,
of where I'm at with my engine, etc, rebuild.
A kerosene heater in the garage.

Nick, back again. Your post name: Cheer me up,
reminds me of a line from the movie True Lies
where Arnold's (forget character name) concerned
his wife may be cheating on him and his buddy is
trying to make him feel better.
He can't take it anymore and says: "STOP TRYING TO
CHEER ME UP!

Don't know why this came to me, it just did.

Hope you feel better Nick!

I'm covered in a mix of 50 year old engine oil, dirt and engine cleaner if that makes you feel any better...

Hey NICK!!!!

Attending a BCF meeting at Il Bacaro in the Old City
will cheer you up for sure.

Here's a photo of once sad faced Frank who flew away
from Nanook ice/snow land to attend a recent BCF meeting
here on the island.

I ask you. Does Frank looked cheered up or what?

Thank you folks. I am starting to feel a little better! I just took the dog out for a walk - he enjoyed it, but it is very miserable out there. One degree above freezing and very damp. I had a look in the garage in passing and the sight of the TR cheered me! She's still smiling!
I think I had a little too much cold remedy last night. Dalmore Single Malt. It doesn't seem to have worked that well, but I forgot the honey and lemon!

Prb51 - Nice photos and nice car ! Your aeroscreens look like the original ones from S-T with the rubber seal at the bottom. Or are they Brooklands where you added the seal ?

Well our local club did our annual 100 mile Mystery Tour this morning. A cool ride in the desert followed by breakfast of chorizo, eggs & beans. No idea if the thought of that will be cheering or not but we had a grand time.

Nick (or anyone)... if you can find a reason to get to Tucson during the winter months I will try to put together some sort of TR/Brit Car experience for you. I've been able to do this for a few folks from the frozen north and even from the UK.

Tucson has a lot of 'business' conventions (golf & sunshine) so maybe you can even find a way to get here on the company's nickel.

It's good to know that there are people out there using their Triumphs today.
Randall, I love the pictures, especially after I noticed the Christmas decorations amongst the palm trees across the street. That looks so strange to me!!
Thanks for the video Peter. I lost myself amongst YouTube for a while this afternoon.
Geo. Great to hear about your drive. The idea of visiting Arizona is very appealing right now. I drove through from Vagas to Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon on my way to Texas 12 years ago. It was certainly warmer there in August than it is here in December!!

Nick,

My commiserations on your cold. I understand completely. My Spitfire sits out in front of my garage right now with its rear suspension partially disassembled because I have to finish changing a U-joint. It's been so cold and rainy here for the last three days that I just can't go out and finish the last two hours of work to get it drivable again.

And why isn't it in my garage, you ask? I started a transmission swap on my Saab a few months ago, and the car can't be buttoned up enough to clear the garage floor for other cars. I put in a few hours Thursday with my kids "helping" but the Saab won't be done until Spring.

Get better soon,
Scott

Say, Nick, this is not the usual forum for this, but:

A horse walks into a bar to get a drink. Bartender
takes one look at him and says: "So why the long face?"

Let's you know how old I am.
