Checking static timing for a 1275 with Crane XR700 ignition

Hello,
I am trying to help my son with his 1275. The engine has a crane XR700 electronic ignition module. I know how to use a test light to check static timing with points. How does one test for voltage in the distributor when the Crane is used?
