A $1.5 million Packard rolled into a pond at this weekend's Hilton Head Concours after winning best in class. It was reported the parking brake was not set:

So I presume there was a category for Amphicar? or Rolls? (I would cry too)

Now it's the "Claude Monet Water lilies" special edition.

I guess having spent so much time in the world of Warbirds, my first thought was was no one got hurt. Everything else can be fixed. Just takes money and time.

That has to be a heart breaking experience. Such a beautiful car. At least, as it appears, the rear end was all that got wet. A good drying out and more than likely upholstery will need to be redone. I would imagine that is a fresh water lake. PJ

OH my! Complete disaster! :cryin: PJ

:sorrow:

An oil change and little Febreze and I'm sure that car will be just fine.

Sidebar: When I was in high-school my older sister used to go running in the mornings. One day her VW Squareback was on the driveway preventing my father from taking his car to work. He decided to roll the VW down the driveway and park it on the street so he could leave. My first awareness of this was when my father burst through my bedroom door yelling "Douglas **** it, get out of bed and come help me. I've got to move your sister's car". He had forgotten about steering locks.

As soon as he started to cut the wheel to make the turn onto the street the steering locked. He panicked and started punching the clutch pedal furiously instead of the brake. The car rolled across the street, jumped the curb, and came to rest squarely on top of a neighbor's large Crepe Myrtle bush... half sticking out from under the left side of the car, half from the right. I knew better than to laugh. I put my boots on and still wearing my bathrobe used my car to tow the VW out of the neighbor's yard. Then my sister arrived home and as very confused by why her car was parked half in our yard and half in the street. She asked "Did I forget to set the parking brake"?

I'd be in a real snit. Wonder who got snitted on?

Well...... Everyone's Haggerty rates just went up....

This is a picture of my son in law with his hand on the hood of the Rolls that he would be riding around in in South Africa this past weekend. Notice that he is smiling. That was BEFORE he cracked the passenger side window with his elbow. :sorrow::sorrow::sorrow:image.jpg

He must have a darn tough elbow.
