I recently found these two ads on Ebay, they have to be scams? web page

web page

The TR is a scam, no doubt there. Why do you think the Sunbeam is? The seller has like 800 sales under his belt, and is located in the US. Unless if someone is using his identity...

The TR3 is either a scam, or the guy doesn't know enough about e-bay to put a reserve price on it. If it sells cheap, don't know what anyone could do to 'force' the sale as he's overseas.

frankenstang57; I think the Tiger is a scam because he has a buy it now of $6,700.

Maybe a salvaged title----he doesnt give too much history or condition of underneath. It does look good though--its tempting to push that buy it now button!!!! Im suprised someone hasnt already.

Read the questions on the Sunbeam. It's a matter of someone hacking and listing the item under someone else's account.

Chances are the TR is the same deal.

I see these a lot on ebay. They always seems to be priced in the $6,000-$7,000 range.

I've emailed questions to the sellers a few times, they always act like it is legit,...but the Auctions always disappear rather quickly.

Gotta change your password reguraly if you want to play on ebay. Or atleast make it so complicated that it's almost impossible to figure out.

It seems like I just saw an MGA on ebay that looked suspiciously similar, with a ridiculously low starting price, no reserve, zero feedback, and a buy it now price of about $6700. I don't see it now.

Ah yes, I didn't not know the Sunbeam was worth that much.($16 in NADA) My bad. I do the ebay thing quite a bit, but not as much as one of my friends. He's the guru, and he's an I.T. guy for a large university. He's convinced it's a scam. Someone probably hacked the user profile to get all the positive feedback. Big thing is, he said ask the seller why the price is so low. They will usually have a reason too good to be true...

Re: Item was removed By Ebay

This is the E-mail I got from the Tiger "owner".

Hello,
I am glad to hear that you are interested about my car.The car is in
perfect
conditions without any scratches, damages or other mechanical problems.
About the shipping taxes you don't have to worry because I will pay for
it.
You will receive the TITLE, keys and owner's manual. I live in Portugal
and
I bought this car from United States so it has US emissions and is
still
registered there.
I can`t find a buyer in my country so I want to sell it in US. I took
care
of it like it was my own baby and now is in the same condition as it
was
when I bought it - even better!
I hope you understand this situation. I want to take this opportunity
to
assure you that this deal is 100% legitimate.
This deal will happen through EBAY.

So if you really want it please give me an email as soon as possible.

Cheers,
Danut

BTW......Comes with a free, hot blond, Russian chick.

There both gone (This listing (#4628404795) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.)

Re: Item was removed By Ebay

LOL!
I emailed one of these scammers about a Shelby Mustang(Clone) that had a buy it now for $6,000. I got virtually the same email that "Whatsthisnoise" posted.

I guess this is what those "Phishing" emails are all about.

Re: Item was removed By Ebay

I used to get "phishing" emails from "ebay" saying I need to send another 75 cents to cover shipping or the like. They looked just like a real ebay invoice. I would forward to Ebays spoof department. I haven't got one of those for awhile. You know, if you send out a million emails like that and half automatically send the extra $.75 with out thinking thats a good $300K. ****, I wish dad didn't spank me for lying. I think ebay does try to police this stuff but it is a big operation and there is always some scammer out there.

Re: Item was removed By Ebay

just remember ALL REAL emails from Ebay start with your name.
otherwise its a scam... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Re: Item was removed By Ebay

Phishing scams are easy to detect. Most times all you have to do is put your mouse over the link in the email and look at what pops up in the yellow box (or you can right click to get the actual destination address.) The real address will never be ebay.com or chase.com or citi.com...it's always ebay.something.com(or .country)/ebayuser
