I just recently brought the old FJ60 Land Cruiser,
a.k.a. "Big", back into the rotation.
Intake/exhaust leaks plaque these beasts. In 1983
the emissions equipment constantly failed due to poor
factory engineering.
No smog police here in Pumpkintown...so here goes.
38DGAS Weber, Eldenbrock header, just one muffler from the collector to the tailpipe.
Wuuuuuu Pow..wuuu pow
Finished it today.
Runs like a scalded dog.
We call it the lightly armored personnel carrier.
Best dog hauler we own. Heck the old girl's A/C is cold!

Here's the old rust bucket's "good" side.
4.0 straight 6
4WD w/ 4 speed tranny, manual transfer case and manual hubs.
Sucker weighs near 3 tons.

I grew up with a Land Cruiser like that one. Darn thing was nearly unstoppable. It got rearended by a Ford F-350 pulling a trailer with a backhoe. Dented the tailgate. No other damage. Even had the chassis checked and it was still in alignment.
