changing right angle drives

At the tranny end do I have to remove the plate that the drive is attached to? I've loosened the drive but when I pull on it it resists and I don't want to damage it. Can I expect a leak of tranny fluid at same time? Thanks

You should be able to just unscrew the `angle drive & pull it off the gear in the trans - if you remove the plate you will lose tranny fluid & may even find the gear separates from the plate & stays in the trans!
