Changing Rear Springs

Greetings! I need to change the rear springs on my TR6, and I'm wondering if this can be done without having to disconnect the brake lines. Can I disconnect the shock link, disconnect the brake line from the holder on the trailing arm, and lower the trailing arm with a jack, to remove the spring? Does the flexible brake line allow for this amount of drop in the T.A.? Thanks, Bob H.

You can always unbolt the backing plate and lift it up out of the way, tie rap it up so it doesn't hang down.

No need to disconnect the brake line. The spring sometimes has to be muscled out a bit. Rotating the drive shaft might help with a few millimeters of more room. Fairly safe porceedure as compared to the front spring, where you need a spring compressor.

Here ya go in photos- page five for coil spring.

You don't have to do all the other steps in this "how to"
but read the entire document and you understand your rear suspension.

I hope this helps,

dale
