TR2/3/3A Changing oil filter

I have been changing engine oil and filter every 2000 - 2500 miles but I see on the TR maintenance guide the filter change is recommended at 10,000 miles. With modern engine oils am I changing the filter unnecessarily?

FWIW, I change the filter every other oil change. Perhaps 1K to 1.2K every other year, mileage-wise.

T , I never change the filter on each service. At 3k I like to do a drain and fill, leaving the filter
for the next service. IMHO a filter that has only done 3 k on clean or lightly used oil is still in good kit.
Leaving it in for another 3k is not in any way bad for the car.

Oil change is still recommended annually, even if you don't drive the car, and even with modern oils. I still change the filter at every oil change, as an opportunity to check for metals in the oil.
