ceramic or semi-metallic brake pad?

1500 MG midget street car.
Need to replace front brake pads (semi-metallic), looking at either ceramic or semi-metallic.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? What is your recommendation?

If I go with ceramic, should I also be replacing the disc since current pads are semi-metallic?
 
No need to replace disks if they are good. However for street use I would stick with Semi Metallic pads
 
I'm racing on semi-metallic. I couldn't get the ceramic pads warm enough.
