Center shift to side shift conversion

For those who are interested in converting to a side shift here are some photos from a bus we rode in Mexico. You will notice how the shift is moved to the side, but apparently the downside is that it requires about 30 inches to move from first gear to second. When in second gear the knob is behind the shoulder of the driver) In a Healey this could be the back seat.
