Not really. Set up the tripod and the camera with the 80~400, cable release, et al. The birds were active for a few minutes on my arrival, got a couple lousy shots off and they just stopped showing up. Spent an hour-plus waiting for them to do something, no activity after the first few minutes.
This is the only frame with ANY birds identifiable. Haze compressed from the long focal length. May go back later today with the 500mm mirrror. The park closes at 7:00, so no good lighting opportunity.
BTW this is looking near due south. Full-frame and same frame cropped.
