where the heck are the casting#'s on a mini head. I can only see 2 sets of numbers 1 by the thermostat housing 19M5 and one by the rockers at the opposite end ECAM4004 and I don't see a listing for either of these HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have to remove the valve cover and look below the rocker shaft typically in the vicinity of the area over cylinders 3 & 4. I don't recognize the numbers you posted... but that doesn't mean anything!
You are correct, the plugs sticking out of the front of the head identify this as a smog-head. You may want to post the numbers you found (and the picture link) over in the Spridget forum. It's very likely that this head was originally intended for an inline North American A-series engine.
I've never seen such a head.
The NAS smog heads were the 12G1316 as far as I know, but were probably changed in later years when Canada got Minis and USA didn't.
