Casting number on upright

This post is not Healey-related but I am hoping for some guidance.

I recently broke the left rear hub upright casting--either magnesium or aluminum--on my Elva MK IV sports racer. The piece bears the casting marking "BA41771" and the attached picture shows the two uprights--broken one on the left--with the number shown on the right upright's webbing.

I am hopeful that this piece was used on other British vehicles but do not know how to reference casting numbers. Any help will be appreciated as otherwise I will have to fabricate a replacement piece which will certainly be an expensive process.

Bingo Rick--or at least I think so. Another smart guy on a different forum provided me with the same link about an hour after I posted the original message.
Thanks in any case and I will notify the Coast Guard to call off the search and rescue operation....

If you want to know if a piece is aluminum or magnesium, take a few fine filings (shavings, swarf, dust...) and put a few drops of vinegar on them. The magnesium will react and the aluminum won't.
