Howdy all! I'm in need of advice on carpet color. I've got a 1966 Healey 3000 Mk III that has a tan leather interior, and green (yes, you read that right) Heritage carpet. I realize that the interior color isn't original, but I plan on keeping it. However, the green carpet just has to go. I'm planning on going with a shade of brown. Most vendors seem to have two options: a darker brown color (which is darker than the seats) and honey color that seems to match the seats quite nicely.

I'd love some advice on what might look better -- carpet in the same color family, but darker than the seats, or carpet that's pretty much a match for the interior. Especially if they're brown tones. Photos would also be great!

Thanks so much!

B.

Hi Bill,
What is Bay's exterior color?

Ah! Forgot that part. She's British Racing Green, with a tan top. I plan on painting her sides white.

I just watched My Classic car this morning and he had a hot-rodded Austin Somerset on there that was black with a tan interior but had used black carpet!! Boy did that set off the tan interior nice!! VERY classy looking! I was surprized!

Champaigne Beige from CoverZone/Chart-One Auto in England is what I have in my BRG MGB. Get Richard Barton there to send you a sample. The price was great, too. They ship out of a warehouse distribution center in Texas.

On my *8 that is a green metallic with a tan top I plan on using a grey interior with grey and green leather seats

Hi Bill,
Well, My car ain't BRG, so no photos. Normally I like contrast, but in this case I'd vote for a golden brown closer to the color of the seats. It looks good at least in my head. If you get 40 posts on this, I'm sure you'll have 40 different opinions.
