Caroline Robinson [Twist]

Offline
I've just learned that Caroline Robinson, beloved spouse of John Twist, passed away last evening (1/12). She fought a heroic battle with cancer, and as is too often the case, cancer won.

Please keep John and his family in your thoughts at this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Caroline.

Very sorry to hear this.

I think many of us know that part of the reason that John had closed his shop was to help her deal with her health problems. A sad day.

Wow that really stinks. My thoughts go out to them.

Truly a nice person. I spent time with both of them at the Altoona British car festival last September and she was still positive, despite her diagnosis. A tremendous loss for John and their children. My prayers for their family.

What business did he run?Could someone give a
little more information for those of us out of thr
loop?

- Doug

John Twist ran/owned University Motors in Ada, Michigan (outside of Grand Rapids) for over thirty years. Last year he closed his doors and auctioned off everything from the operation. He is considered the foremost expert on MG's in the US. If you have ever had a chance to be around him working on a car, there's no doubt of that.

His wife, Caroline Robinson, was diagnosed with cancer around 1-2 years ago. Despite her illness she continued to participate in many British car activities.

Sad indeed.

Thank you for the information.I remember (sadly),
about the auction.And now this.

"A notice of Caroline’s death will appear in the Grand Rapids Press on Thursday, 1/14. A full obituary will run on Sunday, 1/17. Services will be at Metcalf Funeral Home, Cascade Road and I-96. A visitation is scheduled 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday, 1/22. Her funeral at 11:00 am on Saturday, 1/23, will precede a reception at the Hilton Hotel from 1-4 pm.

The University Motors birthday party was always the Saturday closest to January 25th. This year, on what would have been the shop’s 35th birthday party, we will instead celebrate Caroline’s life, achievements, and contributions.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, details from Metcalf - https://www.mjfuneral.com ."
