has any one had any dealings with caribou imports or canvas out in california lately??
 
the reason am asking is since he has supposedly moved i can't get a reply from his email nor will he answer his phones during business hours takes it off the hook and puts it back on when he leaves. does any one live near his shop??
 
Rumor has it that they moved down the street but are still in the same neighborhood.

Apparently they haven’t changed their behavior.

I’m not sure how it works for an out of state consumer but you might try filing a complaint with The California Department of Consumer Affairs.

So this jerk took you too. I ordered a new top from him end of June. He hit my credit card July 2nd. He quoted me 4-6 weeks. You're right he goes in takes the phone off the hook puts it back on at the end of the day. He moved from Villa Park which is about 10 miles from my residence, to Laguna Hills which is about 20. I already started the procedure with my credit card company 2 days ago. I also sent him a fax and there was no response. I should have started with the credit card company sooner but I was stupid enough to wait a few extra weeks. So, if you're going to file a claim do it now. By the way, I used Visa.

already tried the credit card route. they said i waited to long can not be longer the 60 days after the bill is posted. have you tried going to his shop in person and collecting your money legally he has to credit your account if you demand it. specially if a promise date was given and not honored otherwise it is considered fraud and a fedral offense if done through the internet are the phone. i believe in person it is also considered a fedral offense since it was done with a cridit card...

Thanks for the email. Let me know when if the problem is not resolved by that time we might make it a twosome. My credit card company is sending me a form to fill out before they can do anything. Didn't say anything about 60 days and they are aware that it's been longer than 60 days. Filed a complaint with consumer affairs board this PM. Used Professional or Business icon because there is no listed category. If you haven't yet you might try this. Two hits are better than one.

i filled with the bbb in california, consumer affairs in california, atorney genral in california and atorney genral in texas so i think i have covered alot of bases plus am talking to one of my freinds about setting up a web site next to his to warn people looking for tops are parts from him..

Decided to take a trip to visit him this afternoon but guess what? He is no longer in a commercial area. He has moved his business(?) to his home. It is in an exclusive gated guarded community and unless you have a passcard or your name is on the clipboard to get in, the guards will not let you in. I guess he had too many callers at his previous address.

in other words he most likely has stopped making tops or anything else and is just collecting money since a gated community is most likely zoned against comercial business..

well i have finally shot the tundra roving land animal. i got him on the phone after 10 months and almost one sold month of calling him i have my credit back to my card unbeliwevable he actually had the you know what to ask me if i still wanted him to make me a top...duh yea i would like you to keep my money anothe r 11 months and not pay me intrest
