Novice Bruce here again with 66 sprite. When I got the car the vacuum line from the carb to the distributor was a rubber hose. On the parts car it had a hard plastic line. The plastic line has about a 1/8" opening. Was this the standard line. I could not find in any parts store. Another problem is on the parts car, the vacuum from distributor has a smaller outlet connection for the line. On the one I am restoring, the outlet has a 5/16" thread end. Is the threaded end for some type screw on hose? Help please. thanks Bruce
 
You're not gonna find plastic line in a store. If you not worried about originality, don't sweat small details like line size or material. Just don't get windshield washer line, it's too thin and will collapse. Just screw a barbed finning in the hole, hook 'er up and be done.....that is, if you're not after a concourse car.
 
Early distributors used a screw on fitting at the distributor with a metal pipe.
Later they went to the hard plastic tube with rubber nipples at each end.
65 or 66 was the change year from threaded fittings to plastic fittings.
The dizzy fitting can be found at any hardware or plumbing supply, I think it is 1/8 OD pipe and a all you need is an inch or so sticking out and then run rubber vacuum line to the carbs.

Most places you gotta get the whole kit. I've never seen it sold by itself.
 
Hard plastic line is on the shelf at most parts stores, I was looking at it at Autozone last night. You heat a bit to form it where you want to go. The rubber ends in various formats are on the wall right next to them. This is what is serving this purpose on my 1098 which was metal originally but so hacked up I ditched it. And on my previous car too for that matter.
