Does anyone know the difference between an AUC 866 and an AUC 914? The genisis of the question is... Is the 914, for all intents and purposes AND appearance, the same as an 866?? I am attempting to rebuild this to Concourse Specs. The car is an early '58 with 6 port intake. Thanks, Ron

Hi Ronzet, I do not know the answer to your question,However, two carbs can be identical as to type but be entirely different in their marque application. To my knowledge carbs which are different are just that, different.--Fwiw---Keoke

Hello Ron,

from my manual there is only one difference and that is the piston spring, 866 = AUC 1167 spring, 914 = AUC 1170. (Yellow and Green respectively but I expect the colour has long gone.)
The former is 8 ozs at 2.75" and the latter 12 ozs at 3.00" so a stronger spring appears to be the difference on the 914.

Thanks Alec and Keoke. I think that if I can get these at a good price, I will go with the 914s...If not, I will continue my search... Ron
