Carbon Deposits in Carburetor

So I pulled the pistons out of my carbs (twin SU HD6's) last night and found carbon deposits on the walls of the pistons and carb bodies. The deposits were heaviest on the side walls with a little on the side of the piston facing the air filter and virtually clean on the side facing the butterfly. The bodies were mostly clean, except for the side walls adjacent to the pistons. Most of the deposits cleaned off easily with carb cleaner. Does anyone know what would cause this? Is there anything to be concerned about?

What airfilters do you use ?
Might be time for new ones ...

Is there anything to be concerned about?

Generally no!! :
Abit of Laquer thinner or Acetone as well as a good carburetor cleaner will make short work of it i Think
