Carb surprises

This weekend I decided to change carbs on my B Took off the HIF's and started to bolt up the HS4's. Oh my goodness, the connecting shafts are too short by about 3/4 inch! The HS4's are slightly narrower. Does any fellow packrat have a spare pair of shafts? Need one for the accelerator and another one for the choke mech. I have the little doohickies that clamp on the shafts. The ones I need are from any B up to '71 and are about 3.375 long. Thanks, Bob

Bob,

Can you get a chunk of 5/16 brass rod from a hardware/industrial supply/hobby/welding store & just saw off a couple of pieces?
D

Dave: Don't I wish. The connecting rods also have a lever welded/brazed onto the shaft where the cables attach. That is what keeps it from being a "simple" fix. Bob
