Hello all,
As some of you know I have been fooling around with a conversion from the mechanical throttle linkage to a throttle cable for some time. I have done some experimenting but have been less than satisfied. The atached image is of Jack Brashear's car. I like the "over the top" cable as opposed to the "under the carbs" route that most other approaches I have seen use.

Is the part circled in red from a TR6? Anyone have a name, part number or even better, know where I can source the part? If not from a TR6 can anyone help identify the part?

Well Lin, it looks just like the throttle cam off of a Volvo fuel injected car.The appearance of which made its debut in the P1800E series car. I noticed his cable was quite taut.However, there is a small bracket that bolts to the cam which keeps the cable from jumping off and allows a bit of slack in the cable so as not to impede the idle adjustment---Fwiw---Keoke
 
I was going to say, that looks exactly like the gas-pedal-linkage device on my 1988 240 Volvo.
 
Yep /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif100Dash6,all the B20 and B21 series fuel injected engines used that type cam. There are two types as I recall, one is stamped metal and the other is a heavier cast item .If you know how to do it You might post a piccy of it for Skip.--- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif-Keoke
