Carb leak help please

The "sealing plug and "o" ring at the bottom of my front carb some times leaks. I would like some advise on how to change the plug. Does it just pop out?

Just pry it out with a screwdriver or grab it with a soft-grip plier and tease it out by twisting and wiggling downward. Be careful, it is thin brass and plastic. Get a new O-ring from the hardware store or NAPA and stick it back in. Might get a big rag to catch any gasoline that might come out. Cold engine too.

Yes, the sealing plug just pops out. Probably the best way to take it off is to remove the float chamber from the carb and then carefully push the plug out.
 
I agree. It is best to remove the float chamber. The plastic can get brittle over time and break. When buying an o-ring, be sure to get a buna-n type. These are nitrile and won't deteriorate in gasoline. Most hardware stores carry rubber which will desolve in a very short time. If buna-n is unavailable, viton will also work.

If I take off the float Bowls, it looks like it is just
four screws, does anything else "fall out", and I guess I would need a new float bowl gasket?

The down side to removing the float bowl to get to the plug.
