Carb Cable Linkage

The Mrs says she will purchase carb cable linkage as
a Christmas gift. Ratco will not sell to Puerto Rico.

Does anyone know of any other suppliers for cable carb
linkage for a 1969 TR6?

Thanks,

d

Thanks Phil appreciated but...

I am unwilling to put profit into the pockets of
a company that will not even discuss shipping their
product to me. They don't want my business, so I'm
not gonna send them $$ profit by back dooring the order.

So I am looking for another vendor that makes cable
carb linkage for my TR6.

If you know of anyone, let me know.

felicidades,

d

Dale,

Ratco's linkage setup is nothing more than a readily available lokar cable and some custom hardware. I have the lokar cable number if you are interested in fabricating the system yourself. I'm going to take a shot at doing this.

71TR- Thanks indeed.

Greatly apprciated. Yes, give me the part number.
I am very good at fabricating things. A few close up
photos of the Ratco assembly and I,m sure I could
duplicate it.

If you start before me, post some "How to" photos.
I will do the same.

thanks
dale

SHHHH, you might want to say that quietly.

Ain't it the TRUTH!

But this is the first time a seller refused
to even discuss a shipping cost. Usually
they will ship for 150% to 400% markup on
the part actual price and then pocket an
even higher profit.

Hey!! We import some of our Christmas chorizo from
Denmark. Very tasty, I might add.

Mmmm Christmas Chorizo sounds good! Where do you order that from?

Hey Julian !!

Felicidades!

It is traditional here on the island to eat, eat, eat-
sweets and spicy meats during Christmas. Particularly
sweet things with almonds and spicy chorizos.

Most of our Chorizos come from Spain but a few also are
imported from Denmark. The ones from Denmark are not spicy.
At Christmas time they are to be found in all the grocery
stores and most panaderias. ( rough trans- sandwich/bakery
store)

I like them ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I miss the chorizo I used to buy in France ... it was *very* spicy, and excellent thinly sliced on a pizza.

here is the one I made just have not installed it yet, I got a lokar cable for some where around 35 dollars

Hello Dale,

This is Tony from RATCO Inc. I tried to call you several times and I get the wrong number each time. The girl that answers the phone does not know you and as far as I'm concerned no one hear has ever spoken to you. Further I have no problem shipping to PR. I don't know what the problem is but here certainly is one. Sorry this has happened as I don't appreciate bad press when I don't deserve it.

Regards,
Tony

Art/Tony?

I am completely confused now. If my bad, I am
truly sorry.

Now, I have no idea who the girl I spoke with twice
might have been or for whom she works. She repeated
my phone# back to me. Said someone would call me back
momentarily. No one called .

So a miscommunication appears to be the culprit.

Again. If my bad, I am truly sorry.

Art- please send me a PM on how to get hold of Tony?

Thanks as always, mighty confused-

dale

Dale,

Appreciate your feelings. I've done the same myself. Hope you can hook up and purchase the cable directly from Tony.

Phil

OK, sorry about the confusion over Art/Tony. We have our monthly meetings of the Long Island Triumph Association at Ratco. Our December meeting was tonight. I got there a little early and mentioned to Tony about the post on the forum concerning his not shipping to Dale in PR. Since he is not registered, he asked if he could reply under my name.

Dale,

Tony's kit makes life very easy for the installation, especially on the carb mounting bracket. They do come powder coated as well.

He also sponsors the BCF. If you can, buy his kit and save yourself some aggravation. JMHO.

I've never dealt with RATCO and NFI, but I recognize the importance of their frame project. Availability of new frames are going to put & keep a lot of TRs on the road well into the future. I don't know what other LBC series has that luxury.

Jeff

Plus you can see how I did mine, so you won't have any learning curve or guessing. (Not to be considered a tutorial, just a history of my installation)

Also, if you do a stock twin carb TR6, you don't have to bend the bracket mounted to the firewall.
