Carb Banjo Gaskets

When I reinstalled the carbs on my BT7 engine, I replaced the fiber banjo washers on the fuel feed tube. When I started the engine, fuel leaked from the banjo fitting. I found the new fiber washers did not seat down into the recess in the feed tube like the old ones did and as a result did not seal. The washer on the plug side worked fine since it didn't have to fit into the recess. Anyone have this issue and know who carries the correct size washer? My old ones are working now, but I'd like to change them sometime.

YEP Rob:
Ran in to that problem at the carbs and fuel pump banjo fittings.
SO I just put an O ring in the recess then the fiber washer and that closed the leaks up.:applause:

I bought mine from British Car Specialists years ago. They came with directions that it mattered which face of the gasket went towards the banjo fitting.

An old tip was to soak fibre washers in kerosene/paraffin for a short time before use. Assuming they are the correct size of course!

The fiber gaskets for the banjos seem to leak after on for awhile. I use seal washers to slve this problem

They are British Bonded Seal washers, part no.9900 from Brennan Industries. One washer needs to have the OD reduced to fit in the recess of the banjo. I made a fixture to accurately grind the washer to the size needed.
I make these up if you need a set or two!
