Caravan to oregon Rendevous from SF Bay Area

I am trying to organize / join a caravan to Kalamath Or from South San Jose. two options.

One day run on Sunday (boring route) ~ 400 mi /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Two day run using costal / scenic hwys Sat / Sun ~ 700 mi /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
One day brutal run using costal / scenic hwys Sun ~ 700 mi /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I can offer a pit stop in Morgan Hill (South of South San Jose) for those traveling from points south by prearrangement. Seems like Salinas has been a stopping point for the San Diego gang in the past. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thirsty.gif

Hi Tracy,

A caravan (so far, two red Healey Hundreds, possibly three) will be leaving Alpine Village, Torrance Blvd./Hamilton Ave. off the 110 in the LA South Bay area on Sunday the 10th at 8:00 a.m. for a two-day trip to Klamath.

The plan is to take the 101 north to the 680 and jog over to the 5 in the bay area via the 80 and 505. The overnight stop will be anywhere from San Jose to Vacaville, depending on the energy level and enthusiasm of those participating! The plan for day 2, Monday, is up the 5 and 97 to Klamath (although the 101 sounds much more inviting to me).

Problem is, sounds like we're one day off from your plans of Saturday/Sunday...

Would love to take 101 either way, but after Klamath, we're heading for Yellowstone/Jackson, then visiting friends in Layton, Utah, so it's going to be a long, hot ride home thru the desert!

I have changed plans to leave on Monday and do the one day drive up the 5 with the rest of the Bay Area folks. Perhaps we can join up along the way. I will be leaving Morgan Hill in the early morning hours.
