My first inclination was that the Porsche was used by the German Polizei; were that a real German license plate, it would be for the Bundespolizei (Federal Police)....however,

...if you notice the national emblem on the 911 license plate along with the "A", you'll see its different from the national emblem & the "D" of the German plate.

Thus, it must be a newer version of the Austrian BG (Bundesgendarmerie - Federal Gendarmerie) plate as the BG series ended in mid-2005 & was replaced with the BP.

I've had an Austrian Gendarmerie run up behind me while I was driving a rented Audi A4 w/German plates...once he called the plates in & verified there was no problem with them, he zipped around me & was off down the road in pursuit of some otherr car!

Broderick Crawford - haven't heard that name in years!

And what a cruiser he drove - excellent! I remember seeing something like that in my rear view mirror back in ... er ... well, it chased me on my ox cart. Where'd you ever find that picture?

Surprised there hasn't been a post of the Countach the Carabinieri had donated to them by Lambourghini in the mid 80s!!
