Car won't start

I have a problem. To start. I installed a tourist trophy exhaust on my 1960 bt7. The muffler was extremely loud so I was going to take it off to return it to moss. I su
hut the car off, it was running fine, just exhaust was loud. I thought I would restart it and when I did, started but coughing and sputtering can thought it might be a plugged exhaust. Took it off, returned to moss, got a new muffler from the UK, installed it, got the same no start result. Thought it might be fuel related. The fuel line was pinched where it runs under the frame. Fixed it. Checked fuel flow to the carbs and into the bowls. Still the same. This is a case of running one minute then not the next. I am baffled. Any ideas I get spark. I cleaned the fuel lines and will put it back on today.

Did you check for spark at he plugs? Rotors and caps are a common problem.
Did you replace just the muffler or the whole exhaust?

I did check the spark. Then I decided to check all the distributor connections. Point gap. Wire connections. The nut holding the points on the pivot shaft seemed a little loose. I reset the gap. Tightened the nut. The car started ! Just goes to show you can never check this stuff too much. The exhaust system I bought was the moss tourist trophy. The muffles was extremely loud. Moss took the muffler back, left me with the headers and pipes and gave mr the website of a UK parts distributor for a stainless muffler. Kudos to moss. Everything works great.

The car runs great. Where do you put the top when you are not using it and want it with the car. It's a bt7 . Top comes off

You store it behind the rear seat back. The seat back is detachable so you need to remove it. Detach the top and the bars, lay the bars in the space provided and carefully fold the top so that you do not bend the rear window. It should then fit in the space allowing you to slide the seat back into place to hide it all. It takes a bit of practice to get it right.
