Howdy all:

I'm in the process of buying a house and will be expanding the garage right away. This means I'll need a place to store my TR-250 (and possibly the Tiger and the Lotus) for a month or so. Does anyone happen to know a safe place in the DC area to store a couple of English roadsters? Thanks so much as always!

I can't help with a location, but I can offer some advice. Wherever you store the cars make sure it is fully insured. I received an email from out local club last week about 2 members of the Nashville club losing their cars to fires recently. One incident involved a one owner TR6 in a shop for a simple oil change. The other was the loss of an entire collection of Porsche racers.

By the way, when did the Tiger sneak into the collection?

One additional thought. You may be able to rent some space in a hanger at a small airport. Possibly from an aircraft mechanic who has a large enough hanger that he can continue his work and still accomodate a few cars for awhile.

You are welcome to keep the cars at the Soggy Bottom Facility in Maryland for free, but they'll have to sit outside. Both sheds are occupied.

And of course the Chief Boffin gets driving privileges.

Thanks for the posts. John, I appreciate the offer. The Elise can certainly live outside, but the Tiger really needs a home inside. The 250 is safely stored in a friend's garage.

Randy and Bob -- the Tiger definitely snuck in! I've always yearned for one, and one came up on eBay and I half-jokingly bid on it. Then I thought to myself, "Self, you've always wanted one, so let's go for it!"

And go for it I did! I haven't picked it up yet, but it should be here in a week or so. Until the garage is expanded, storage is a challenge!

You can get tent-like car shelters from Harbor Freight. I think they're reasonably priced.

You can put them up in my yard, if you want.
