Car Show

OK, I don't normally go to car shows or cruises.
Unless it's all Brit-cars or I'm going with friends or family, I find them boring.
And to be honest with you, I'm not exactly the world's biggest fan of Do-op music.

But the MGB is in reasonable shape now and it seemed like a good excuse to drive it somewhere.
I live in New Jersey which seems to have some sort of car show or cruise every night of the week. And since New Jersey is a fairly small state, most of them are within an easy drive.

So I look on the 'net and there's a cruise night (with Do-op music) in nearby Flanders tonight (Thurs).
At a McDonalds.
It's some sort of police-run charity deal.

I get there and scope out a green MGB, so I park diagonally near him. He's a nice guy and member of the MG Drivers Club. We know a lot of the same people. Another MGB (blue) wanders through but doesn't stay long.
A decent red TR4 parks behind our two Bs. It's a live axle car. I talk to the guy and he know the fellow here in NJ that has the TR4 with about 400,000 miles on it (the fellow has passed that TR4 onto a relative who is a member here at BCF).
A guy drives in with a Hillman Minx. This is his 4-door but he has a convertible Minx too. He knows more about Hillman Minxs than anyone on the planet.
At some point, another guy who owns an MGB (but didn't drive it there) talks to me for a good while. And the Hillman guy introduces me to a guy who owns two Elans (but he drove his Benz 190 E 2.3-16 tonight).

There was also one of those horrible Excalibers....a vehicle built from a Spridget but with the wheelbase extended about 20 yards and designed to look like.......umm, "something" (I can't tell you what *I* think it looks like).

There was also about a zillion hot rods and several annoyingly loud motorcycles.

Green 73-ish MGB with mine in the background.

Hey!....I got all this extra yellow paint. Why the heck not?

A nice old Jeep (I think it's a CJ3)

By the time I go to leave, it's dark...and I realize that I've never tried the lights before (remember, this car's been sitting for 20+ years).
They work! Cool!

All in all, a pleasant night with lots of good conversation and some nice comments about the car.

Do you mean Doo-Wop music, Nial?
