I have 2 BT7`s both have 2 carbs only one has a verticle grille and one has a horizontal grille. Other than being a MK 1 and a MK 2 what is the difference. Skip

S and L,
A quick guess would be the one with the horizontal grill has a serial number below 6000 and the other below 13000. I rounded up the numbers but it should be close. I believe the majority of the differences are cosmetic.

The mark one was produced in March 1959 and the mark 2 followed in March 1961 and continued to June 1962 between these dates there were many minor variations and changes. To be precise, you would need to get the model number of each and check them against the data listed in 'Original Austin Healey' by Anders Ditlev Clausager which is a good reference book to start with.
