Can't get the truck to open

It's a 1994 XJ6 I just change the :icense plate lights and the back light lens. Now the thing won't even open. The only way I can open it before was in the inside console. There is no trunk key. Can I have that lock remove and put in one that uses a key

I'm readin from the owner's manual...it says "the black key opens the doors, luggage compartment and fuel filler flap simultaneously by operating either of the front door locks."

IT also says "to open the luggage compartment, press the badge button in the center of the luggage compartment lid."

Read carefully the procedure for applying jumper battery of charger to the post and ground mentioned in earlier posts on this subject in this thread.

Look on your trunk - just to the right of where it says XJ6. you should see a small hole. It doesn't look like a keyhole, but your key should fit in it. Turn key 90 degrees to right to open trunk.

This for a 94:

Open the hood and look on the firewall. There is a black plastic square box with a + sign or with a big "P" on it, lift up the plastic cover, connect your jumper/charger on a low boost (negative is anything metal on the engine) and this will give you enough power to push your remote trunk release switch.

WARNING (edit): DO NOT try to start the vehicle from this jump point!
This power point is just to allow you to get the trunk open to access the battery!

Super!! Which route did you take?
