Hi Everyone,
I’m 19 from Toronto, Canada. I briefly owned a 1972 MGB Roadster before the insurance company decided to change their mind about how much they wanted to charge me (I’m the third driver and it was the third car sort of deal).
She might not look like much, especially compared the cars on this forum, but it was the best I could afford being a student, and she was my pride and joy. It was a bit of a ‘learn as you go’ experience, but I did manage to accomplish a few minor repairs all by myself (of which were probably of little significance, but I was still pleased as punch with my work). Unfortunately, I had to let her go, but I think she’s with someone who can take better care of her than I ever could.
The reason I decided to join the revered ranks of the BCF was to try to learn more about British cars, but with a specific goal in mind. The two things I love most in life has to be classic British cars and rally racing, so I decided that surely there must be a way to combine the two. I hope to be able to accomplish this in the form of rally racing a good old fashioned British icon. My inclination so far has either been between tuning up an MGB-GT or a GT6 to group-2 spec, but really I don’t know. I am hoping that after spending some time browsing the forums on this site, and maybe posting one or two threads myself, I should have the knowledge to make an informed decision on what to get, and maybe even what to do with it.
Looking forward to absorbing some of the invaluable knowledge and wealth of experience that this site, and all of you, have to offer.
Cheers,
- Eric
