Below are two cars that I saw parked on the street.... one in Sydney, Australia and the other in Wellington, New Zealand.
The burgundy one had me stumped and I must admit I had to look it up.....
Can you identify them?

The model of the burgundy car was only made from 2000 to 2001

edit: The Citroen Ami had a similar rear window so I can see how you guessed that

BINGO on the first one. It's a 1979 Holden Kingswood.
The second one is NOT a Nissan.
 
Just to clarify...we don't ALL drive around in stunted japanese Kei cars!

Fun fact: the earlier HQ Holden wagons had a wind down rear window that was perfect for slotting surfboards through.
 
Ok, the second car is a "Will". Here's a paragraph from Wiki...
The WiLL brand was a marketing approach shared from a small group of Japanese companies who decided to offer products and services that focused on a younger demographic from August 1999 until July 2004 in Japan. The companies that participated were the Kao Corporation (a manufacturer of personal hygiene, household detergents, and cosmetics), Toyota, Asahi Breweries, Panasonic, Kinki Nippon Tourist Company, Ltd, Ezaki Glico Candy, and Kokuyo Co., Ltd. (an office furniture and stationery manufacturer). Toyota also engaged in a similar "youth oriented" approach in North America, with the Project Genesis program.

WiLL Vi
The WiLL Vi is a compact car, produced from 2000 to 2001, with distinctive styling combining elements of many cars. The WiLL Vi was designed by the then newly formed Virtual Venture Company, headed by Jim Shimizu.[1] The unique-appearing rear window had earlier appeared on the Mazda Carol, the Ford Anglia (1959–1968), and the Citroen Ami. The "neo-retro" look represented a period in Japan where vehicles took on the styling of historic vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s, such as the Nissan Be-1, Nissan Figaro, Nissan Pao, the Toyota Origin, the Subaru Vivio, and the Mitsubishi Minica.
The car was equipped with MacPherson struts for the front wheels and a torsion beam axle for the rear wheels. The car was painted in a number of pastel colors, and the plastic wheel covers resemble sand dollars. One of the few options was a canvas sliding roof, and the vehicle was installed with bench seats for both front and rear passengers, with the gearshift installed on the dashboard.
Sales were disappointing, so the Vi was replaced by the WiLL Cypha.


You can see the Will logo on the back of the car. I removed it from the photo's I posted earlier.....

Well,since it is Japanese,& totally ugly,I figured that it was a Nissan.
Nice Mimosa TR6! - I've got a '74-1/2 something like it (NOT a Nissan).

Thanks, I'm quite sold on it myself. Of course, I couldn't show it off to GM8 as the alternator died after 40y of faithful service...to other people.

PS-come down to NZ-you know you want to! & the balance of cars are better than the Will (just a reskinned Corolla really...)

Well, if I was restoring a 1970 - 72 Monte Carlo, at least I'd have parts source from the firewall forward. In fact, the whole car is reminiscent of the 1968 - 72 GM Intermediate wagon, save the recessed door handles.
 
Holden Auto's are a subsidiary of GM Australia..... built with GM components.
 
Yep. Owned by local TR register president. Lotsa TR2s, 3s, 4s &6s. Plus some nice 5s & 250s for good measure

Yes...it seems that Detroit sent its "leftovers" to Australia to use on the Holden.
 
Once drove the Holden version of a Chevy II (about a 1965 model Nova) in Thailand. And an MG 1100 I'd fixed the points gap on.
