Can I use a battery booster on my + ground BT7?

I have supidly let the battery go flat on my positively grounded BT7. My brother in law has lent me a battery booster - can I safely use it and do I need to attach the booster negative to the battery +? As always, many thanks for the help. Andrew

Only if you want to experience problems. Positive should always be connected to positive. 12 volt, 6 volt, 24 volt. Doesn't matter which ground you've got. Always keep the supplemental voltage connections the same as the vehicle. POSITIVE TO POSITIVE...

Thanks Ron, of course, now I'm thinking a little more clearly what I probably meant to ask last night was - the booster instructions tell you to connect the booster positive to the battery and the booster neg to the car body/chassis - I imagine that I should connect the booster negative to the battery and the positive to the body of my positively grounded car - is that right? Thanks.

Connect directly to the battery? Positive to positive, negative to negative.
That way there's no confusion, and you achieve exactly what you want.

If a time comes when you need a jump from a Negative car, positive to positive, negative to negative from each battery. Just make sure the cars do not touch.

Cheers,
Roger

What every one here has advised is correct.

Ideally battery booster to battery. A lot of boosters will try to ameliorate electrical open or excess resistance in cables, connections and corrosion buildup by advising hook one cable to battery the other to engine. But you shouldn't need to do that, go straight to battery..

Many thanks guys, it worked fine and I'm up and running again now. Always good advice from this forum.
