Can I reuse my push rods?

My APT head bolts are coming by UPS today, to this weekend I'll rebuild my 1275 engine for my BE.

But I did forget to order new push rods, so with a new cam and new lifters, would it be 'wrong' to use my old push rods? My feeling is NO, as long as they're straight and look ok at the ends. It wouldn't even mater what order they're put back in because all the other parts are new.

Agree...Disagree. I can always wait till next week to put the head on.

Roll them on a table to be sure they're straight, examine the ends to look for anything out of the ordinary and put them back in. Never bought a new set and never had a problem.

That is true, however, as long as everything else is new in the valve system do you really want to do that. However again pushrods can be replaced at any time so maybe you want to order some and push on with the rebuild.

They can be ordered from Moss for example overnite or second day air. I am sure that your vendor will do the same.

Hope you have a new oil pump, throwout bearing, and clutch disk. If not you should.

As long as their straight and the ends look good, I would reuse them.

But I also agree with Jack on the oil pump, TO bearing and clutch! Replace them if there is any question!

ALL of that is new, as well as a rebuilt 5 speed datsun transmission and Rivergate Kit...WAHOO!!

Sure to be more questions later.....thanks.
I'm going to miss not driving the car but hopefully I'll have it back by August. I'm doing a fairly good stripdown and sending it out for some body work and paint.

It's got to look good when it meets Miss Agatha and her friends!

If they are good and straight as others have said, reuse them. You could buy trick tubular ones or even new stock ones, but if yours are good then they will do the job more than good enough.

Also if you got your cam form David at APT, most of his cams are slot drive oil pump cores, so you update to the later A+ slot drive oil pump, I just ordered his MD276 cam and slot drive oil pump for a 1275 I starting to build for a customer.
